DANTE: ALWAYS AUTUMN

Here's Dante in a stunning shot from October of 2012.

I applied the watercolour effect because it amplified all of the contrasts in shading which adds so much to the mood of the picture.

Dante, deep in thought, is forever captured against a background of sun-dappled fallen leaves.

PURRhaps now he's in a place of PURRpetual autumn.
It certainly would be fitting.

DANTE: THANKSGIVING BLENDER CAT!

Here's Dante in his turkey hat from October 2014.  Canadians celebrate the end of harvest earlier than our southern neighbours because, of course, the harvest comes sooner here.  So our Thanksgiving Day is always the second Monday in October, though many folks have their celebratory dinner on Sunday instead.

Dante didn't care which day we had turkey, as long as he had his share.

Dante was always in his element at this time of year.  He fit right in with the landscape.  In fact he blended in so well (without benefit of his hat and tie) that our back yard wild life were hard pressed to locate him.  Talk about being inCATnito!

Squirrels would come out to play with no fear of a giant orange cat pouncing upon them.  Truth be told they were safe because Dante's belly was so full of roast turkey that he could barely even move.

There's nothing like the full experience of a Canadian Thanksgiving to bring one plenty (including a few extra pounds)!

DANTE: UP FOR IT!

This is my all-time favourite photo of Dante in autumn and it goes way back to October of 2008.

That boy sure knew how to strike a pose!

Simply unbeLEAFable!

DANTE: RUFFING IT!

Dante's out on the front patio bench on a breezy September day in 2010.

His fur coat is absolutely massive!

The wind picks up a little and ruffles Dante's ruff which also gets his back up.

Let's face it, when you have a mane as bountiful as Dante's,
you'll always have a 'ruff' time of it.

DANTE: AUTUMN GLORY!

Well, now it's officially Autumn 2017.  This picture of Dante, however, goes back to the Fall of 2009.

Dante always seemed in his element in the autumn.  His orange hues were accentuated by the fall colours all around him, so much that he actually glowed.

Of course Dante was a stand-out in any season, but in Fall he was truly at ease with his environment.

DANTE: YOU GOTTA BACK YOUR OWN HUNCH!

Dante's PURRusing the landscape from his PURRch in the porch chair in September of 2012.  It was a beautiful sunny day which provided a lovely light display on Dante's fur.

And happily, all was quiet on the neighPURRhood front so he could hear the birdies singing.

"I has a hunch!" remarked Dante.

"Dat's why I'm hunchin' forward."

"Yoo kin just call me da Hunchbacka No-traffic Lane."

Looks like that hunch paid off!

DANTE GIVES AN ASSIST

This is Dante on the front patio in September 2010.

He is communing with the environment and admiring the beauty of the season.
Then he decides that Mother Nature needs a little help, so ...

... he climbs the tree and shakes the branches.

The actions of a true beLEAFer!

DANTE: TIME FOR A CHANGE

This is Dante in the back yard in September 2012.

The wind is ruffling Dante's munificent mane as he turns his attention to something behind him. With the season about to change ...

... it must be the sound of all those clocks ticking!

DANTE: OUT OF THE SHADOWS

This is Dante in the back yard in early September 2014.

The leaves from the trees filtered out most of the sunlight except for some which illuminated Dante's beautiful face.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime shot, methinks!

Shine on, Dante my love!

DANTE: TICKLED PINK!

Here's Dante in September 2014, trying to bridge the gap between summer and fall.

He didn't want to get into darker colours just yet, so he chose the transitional (and some would say more feminine) pink.  Dante in pink only serves to enhance his mancatliness, however.

His dusty pink felt fedora with gray band and feathers is more suited to the cooler weather, while his pink, white and black striped bowtie gives him a rather cheerful appearance.

Never was there a mancat more dappurr and dashing -- or, as it turns out -- more tickled pink!

(Note:  Hat feathers come in handy if you, too, are desirous of a good old-fashioned tickle.)

DANTE: MY MANE MAN

Here's Dante in the late summer of 2009.

You might say Dante's in full flower as much as the ones beside him.  His mane at this time of year is as fabulous as it gets.

It's not fur nothin' that I used to call him "My Mane Man"!

DANTE PREPARED

From August 2014, here's Dante in the front garden.

Dante has planted himself by his favourite weigela bushes which are in their second bloom at this time of year.

And August is the time when Dante typically floofed up to the max in preparation for the winter months.  He always like to be prepared well in advance --  like the good boy scout he was.

"Just in case yoo finds yoorself in the middle of snowhere"  he would say.
